Original Batty the Bat Beanie Baby – Near Mint Condition – 1 Owner – Tag Errors. Batty is made from brown material with black button eyes and a pink nose. His ears, feet and the claws on his wings are made from brown felt. He has velcro on his wings so you can fasten them together. Batty the Bat (Brown). Bats may make some people jitter. People don’t be scared of this critter. If you’re lonely or have nothing to do. This Beanie Baby would love to hug you! Batty was introduced on October 7, 1997. He is the only Beanie Baby with velcro sewn on to his wings so that you can attach them together. Batty retired on March 31, 1999. Swing Tag – Missing comma after Oakbrook. Swing Tag – Missing U. Swing Tag – Style number appears on same line as name. Swing Tag – Birthdate appears numerically as “10-29-1996″. Should be written “October 29, 1996″. Tush Tag – Ty Inc. Tush Tag – Comma after INC. Tush Tag – Oakbrook not separated. Tush Tag – Missing comma after Oakbrook. Korean Market 1965. Fareham, Hants (Limited Edition). These beanie babies were not played with and were stored in a sealed container with other Beanies since they were acquired. That owner is me. I bought them, new, from the store, in the 90’s. This is a museum quality, mint condition Ty Original, limited production edition, first generation, vintage, and retired “Batty” the Bat from 1996. Fabric “errors” come from being hand sewn and stitched by an actual artist NOT a machine! Pellets are used in the first original Ty Beanie Babies prior to the company going to global mass production assembly lines where the later 1998 used of P. Pellets were used to be compliant and environmentally friendly. Both the tush tag and swing tag are in mint condition and have been preserved. Comes with a complimentary acrylic display case and swing tag protector. Nose is slightly off center and right side ear is slightly higher, also synonymous with being handmade on the earlier limited production line. Felt feet are cut out by hand and so are the felt tips of the wings. Velcro attachments are hand stitched and in tact. Chances are we have it in our vast inventory!
