RARE Ty Valentino Beanie Baby Bear RETIRED 1994 Mint Condition ERRORS
In the Ty Beanie Baby arena, as for collectibles, certain things make for a more valuable item. Typos and other mistakes. This Valentino bear has a lot going for it. The Ty Corporation began producing these small stuffed animals in 1994. Much to their surprise, the characters appealed to adults as much as children due to the fact the Ty company began restricting the availability of each character. In the early years, only small gift shops could carry the line and only 36 of each design was available per store. That created an early biz around these toys which creates value. Then the company decided to “retire” lines which further increased each toy’s value. That was what set off a Beanie Baby craze for children as well as adults. This bear, Valentino, was introduced in 1994. So while not one of the first characters, it was very young in the history of Ty Beanies. (5th Generation of the Hang Tag). What lead to more of its rarity is that this bear has a glaring typo on its heart-shaped hang tag. On the front the word “Origiinal” was a mistake (double ii). So if you’re already a collector or just new to this investment opportunity, you will understand that this bear has a significant impact. Beanie babies are always kept in plastic and stored in a smoke and pet free home.
